Diving Courses for beginners

Two introductory courses are available for those who have not dived before or who have only been discover scuba diving.
These courses at your disposal are:

  • Open Water Diver Course
  • Scuba Diver Course

Any of them allow you to discover a brand new and fascinating world. Excitement, the chance of making new friends and experiencing a healthy activity within the unique environment of the Mediterranean sea and National Park of Cabrera are guaranteed.
You will obtain an internationally recognized diving certification. PADI and SSI are nowadays the leading companies in training new recreational divers worldwide.

Open Water Diver

This is the most popular diving course in the world, with around 1 million people taking it every year. This is also the course we recommend you to take if you are interested in taking further recreational diving courses afterwards. By completing this course you earn a beginner level certification that allows you to go always diving with a partner at a maximum recommended depth of 18 meters.

Our course includes 2 dives in Cabrera National Park (between april and october).

 

AGE AND MAXIMUM DEPTH

  • Minimum age: 10 years old
  • Maximum depth: 18 meters.

CONTENT OF THE COURSE

  • 6 theory chapters (online).
  • 6 confined water dives (swimming pool / at sea)
  • 4 open water dives.

DURATION

  • Online theory (between 12 and 18 hours).
  • 3 hours of in-person theory sessions.
  • 2 full days of training:
    • The first day from the shore in Colonia de Sant Jordi.
    • The second day we will complete your Open Water Diver course with 2 boat dives in the National Park of Cabrera (between april and october).

 

DATES

Courses are carried out weekly, all year long. Theory sessions can be completed at your own pace from home. Two different possibilities are available for practical training sessions:

  • MONDAY + TUESDAY
  • SATURDAY + SUNDAY

From 9:00 to 18:00 approximately.

COURSE PRICES WITH SSI CERTIFICATION

Price depends on the number of bookings made at the same time.

  • 1 -2 persons: 560€ each
  • 3 - 4 persons: 490€ each
  • 5 + persons.: 460€ each

 

PRIVATE COURSES

If none of the planned course options suits you, or you want a course just for you or your group, you can also choose your private course. All days are available for private courses between 9:00 and 18:00h. In case this time frame does not suit you either, please check availability with us. Prices for private courses are:

  • 1 -2 persons: 870€ each
  • 3 - 4 persons: 750€ each
  • 5 + persons: 720€ each

Scuba Diver

This is a shorter course, it implies fewer theory and practical training sessions, up to around 60% the content of the Open Water Diver course. It allows you to dive up to 12 meters, under professional supervision at all times. This is the right course for those who have little time or those who are not interested in planning the dives, maximum depths, dive time, etc. And that is the main reason they must be supervised by a diving professional always after the course.

  • 3 theory chapters (online).
  • 3 confined water training sessions (swimming pool/ at sea)

  • 2 hours of in-person theory sessions.
  • 1 full day of training from the shore in Colonia de Sant Jordi

If none of the planned course options suits you, or you want a course just for you or your group, you can also choose your private course. All days are available for private courses between 9:00 and 18:00h. In case this time frame does not suit you either, please check availability with us. Prices for private courses are:

  • 1 - 2 persons: 760€ each
  • 3 - 4 persons: 690€ each
  • 5 + persons: 670€ each
BOOKINGS

A deposit of 150€ is required to make a reservation. The rest can be paid at the beginning of the course.

 

ONLINE THEORY AND SELF-STUDY
The course includes an online theory section that you can complete by yourself. Once you have booked your course, you'll have access to it in 24 hours. The theory consists of 5 chapters with tests and videos (3 chapters in the Scuba Diver course). It is highly recommended to start studying at least 7 days before starting practical training. It is also important to finish studying before beginning the practical training with us. The book in paper support and the DVD are available upon request.

 

If you're travelling to Mallorca to do your course, you can start studying at home previously to your holidays, so when you are in Mallorca, you can be diving the most of the time.

 

INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

  • Educational material
  • Diving gear rental, including diving computer.
  • Shore dives.
  • Double dive with boat in Cabrera National Park in the Open water Diver course (between april and october).
  • Diving insurance during the course.
  • SSI Certification

 

WHAT TO BRING
To really feel like diving and having fun is the only requirement to effectively conduct the course. Besides, swimsuit, towel and sunscreen will be necessary. It is important to have a hearty breakfast those days that water training activities are conducted, as well as a good night sleep and no alcohol use.

 

MEDICAL CERTIFICATE, or a responsible statement from the diver about his health, which will be carried out by completing the following questionnaire. When the answers to the questions in the questionnaire reveal the presence of a pre-existing condition that may affect the diver's safety or it is notorious that their physical condition is not adequate, diving will not be allowed if it is not accredited, passing a medical examination.

 

DIVING AND FLYING
Around 18 hours of wait before getting in a plane are required after diving. Please keep this in mind when planning your course and flight.
